Alima Makhymetova

Alima Makhymetova is a filmmaker, media researcher, and UX/UI designer from Kazakhstan. She graduated from Astana IT University, where she focused on digital media, interactive storytelling, and user experience design. Her work combines documentary filmmaking, technology, and cultural heritage preservation. Alima is one of the pioneers of interactive documentary production in Central Asia and co-created one of the region’s first interactive documentary projects. Alongside her research in interactive cinema, she works as a cinematographer, video editor, and multimedia creator. Her interests include documentary filmmaking, digital storytelling, UX/UI design, and the development of innovative media experiences that connect technology with human stories.
